Phase 1, Stage 6 Progress Report

Stage 6 is the footpath wall between the lock and the bridge. After setting out the line of the wall, excavation commenced and exposed the original canal wall. (see picture below) BW project Engineer, John Kearsey, has now decided that the old wall must be removed and a new wall built in its place.

May 2001: The public inspect the restoration work during the festival June 2002: The last wall section of stage 6 has been completed, and backfilling is progressing well during the festival
